Anonymous Rants VS The Padded Room
Notes about the Anonymity section
1) ALL posts here are public. This means anyone on the planet can read them, even if they couldn't or wouldn't register. If you don't want <insert person> to be able to read your message, you might want to consider registering/logging in and posting elsewhere. 2) All posts here are indexable. What I mean by this is the search engines can and will see them as well. Anything posted here will show in google, yahoo, msn, and many more search engines (though probably not high on the lists). Again, if you don't want it to be seen you might want to consider registering/logging in and posting more privately. 3) Forum rules apply. Even if you haven't joined, you need to follow the rules when posting. Just because you aren't registered doesn't mean you'll be allowed to post spam or other things against the rules. Offending posts can and will be deleted, and if needed we can block based on IP both from accessing the forums and from accessing the site at all. Reasons to post here instead of in the Padded Room 1) You can be anonymous. If you log out your post will not necessarily have your forum username attached to it. Even if you use the same username while logged out, it won't link to your forum account and people will not know for a fact that it is actually you. And you don't even have to put your actual username on the post - you can put anything there. You could post as "no one" or "randomness" if you really wanted to. 2) Post availability. Every post here is visible to anyone. This means if you post here you can actually send people who aren't members of the site links to your rant, and they can even respond without registering. This may be considered a good or a bad thing depending on the situation. 3) Simply not liking "The Padded Room" or connotations. The issue with it's name & description has already been brought up, though not changed or solved so far. If it really bothers you enough to think of being in a padded room, you can avoid that name/issue here. Just be completely aware that anyone and everyone can read and reply to your posts. ![]() If you need me, you can PM or Email me or IM me via the information in my profile.
